blue
blue
like the sky on a summer day
sun drenched
no stress
nothing but cloudless and
blue
like the sea
vast, neverending
so open that I fear
one step more
and I too
will be swallowed underneath
blue
like a symphony of raindrops
falling, washing everything
and reminding me
that I am never too dirty
to be cleaned by
blue
like the notes of my favorite song
the chords swirling around me and when I close my eyes
I feel like I am swimming in
blue
like the chlorine scent of a concrete oasis
I dive into
blue
like the shoes my brother took his first steps in
those tiny feet clad in
blue
like the color of my best friend's eyes when she laughs
oh- if you could see this too
you would know why
I only need
blue
