Blue and White Striped Pillow
Dear Blue and White Striped Pillow,
You know.
You know me.
You know my body, as I lean against while I study for a test
You know my laugh, as I talk to my friends about the boy in History
You know my tears, when I’ve lost someone so close to my heart
You know my voice, as I sing along to my favorite song
You know my arms, as I hug you after a nightmare at one in the morning
You know my fists, as I punch you when I’m mad at my family
Oh, Blue and White Striped Pillow,
You know me better than anyone
You have been by my side through it all
But you and I say goodbye.
Only for a short while
For I must place you into—
The Washing Machine.
Waiting Patiently,
Naeha Inapanuri
