Blue like a Bluebird's Feather

A reflection of a glistening bluebird’s feather

With waves beaded in pearl white foam;

The Sea is my inspiration,

My love,

My mentor.

Caressing the sand with its loving hand,

Bestowing life-giving water to creatures of the deep;

The Sea teaches me

To love,

To give.

Tumbling and raging over sailor’s head,

Gaping open its watery mouth,

The Sea shows me to

Be strong,

Be fearless.

So many emotions like that of a person.

The Sea is not one thing, but many.

The swishing waves remind me that

I too do not conform to society’s label.

I am my own.

With multiple feelings,

Many interests,

Numerous thoughts.

The Sea is my mentor.

Reminding me to always remain…

Me.
