Blue Eyes

I used to want blue eyes

So I could see the world like clear skies,

So when people looked at me

They would see

The purity behind my colored eyes

Behind this tried disguise.

I wanted transparency

So light and good could shine through

Like a beacon of truth.

I wanted connectivity

To be tethered together

And rise like angel sighs

But sadly, you denied.

You destroyed an individual

Made me invisible

Called me inadmissible

Took away my principle

You made me a fucking target,

Now my black skin is killable

And all sense of unity is hopeless and fictional.

But here me when I say

There is night and there is day.

And the day will come

When my people are one

When our voices will blend

And our mentality will mend

When your ignorance and influence

Will be none

We will rebuild the individual

Make love that is biblical

Laugh like its irresistible

And die

Knowing our life was livable.
