Blue Seams

Mon, 11/16/2015 - 17:28 -- Alex_M

To seem
is to know
you are broken somewhere
with a seam stitched tight with
self-awareness, an attempt at positivity
but knowing still where the rip
once was
and seeming fine
is fine enough
till the midnight—one—two—three
AM hour when
you pick at the seam
slowly, carefully
picking apart the threads
remembering yourself
as you still seem
listless,
seem to smile
again at dawn, and this time,
the smile is real.
