Blue Tunes Addict
My love is a blue tunes addict
I find his tears stained on the sunken mattress
He's strewn dope vinyl across his bedspread
And he's injecting morphine
through his headset
My love is a blue tunes addict
His hits from joints come out as
smoke rings of sadness
He's explained before
that there's pain in his head
So he's hooked on the hurt
in lyrics that have been said
I used to wonder why
his addiction stayed
Until I felt some hurt of my own
and I understood those song's blue pain
My love and I
are blue tunes addicts
Both getting high on rhymes
with underlying madness
Through sorrowful sound waves
our drug cravings are met
I am a blue tunes addict
Words in happy songs
haven't seen the truth yet
Sometimes I ask about
the normalcy we have strayed from
but he just tells me to rewind the cassette
