Blurred Lines

Blurred Lines

“Because I love you, I’ll always be here”

I turn around, and you’re nowhere near

“Because I love you, we’ll take it slow”

I wait three seconds, and you push me to say go

“Because I love you, we won’t cross that line”

I look around, and that line’s ten feet behind

“Because I love you, I’ll stop when you say so”

I whisper “stop”, and you tell me to let go

“Because I love you, I would never do that”

I immediately feel it: the regret, hard to look at

“Because I love you, forget it, don’t complain”

… WRONG…

“Because I love you, I’ll be here forever”

I call your name, and you’re there just whenever

“Because I love you, we can wait ‘til we’re ready”

I hear the bells ringing; you kept your word steady

“Because I love you, we can laugh through all of our trials”

I feel my world crumbling, but see you, and smile

“Because I love you, I’ll love you through and through

I tried to shut down, and you showed me that your love was true

“Because I love you, you’ll always feel safe”

I turn towards your heart, and accept your embrace

“Because I love you, I’ll be here for always”
