Blush of Shame

Blush of Shame

The blush of shame upon my face,

I walk the sinner's walk.

The down cast gaze, with guilted rage,

I talk the sinner's talk.

The snarled soul that lost control,

wishes other truths

and looks beyond the tearful smile,

In search of other proofs.

Entanglements that twist the meaning

suddenly and without warning,

engulf the sinless bodied mass

and crucify my progress.

Oh Holy One of ages past,

whose light is forever cast

upon my soul's reflective skin

and warms the nothingness within.

Created me, a thing so handsome,

like Love's likeness: You paid the ransom.

Polish again thy resting place.

Remove my sin with your Love's grace.
