Board vs. Me...

The same people, the same things, the same meaning. We go to this place called school for a education and i dont think its fair that my skin color decides what education i recieve. Im just like them. I bleed the same color, got here the same way yet, i get treated to a nice warm seat on the bleachers and tons of cameras and press doing headlines on me about being the only African American in my class, no, better yet in my whole school. Like what is the problem?

I dont think its fair at all. Will anyone see from my point of view and help me stand tall? Dont they know that i just wanna learn like everyone else? I think it time we admit and they realize, this system was not made for our uprise. And its no suprise. We were seen only one way that could end our dreams in one play. They say school is supposed to be a "safe place" but they critize us because we ate colored. What does it matter if my skin is brown and theirs is white? I would say it was about smartness or maybe because im just not good enough but truth is my penny like skin color, my thick curly dark black hair and my bright brown eyes arent enough to work with people i look different than. To let them take my pride is like taking away my joy and im no toy to be played with. We arent equal. I want to attened school on my side or the town and nothing more. And i wont stop saying it until i get it.

I mean no harm. Im quiet and i dont hite but this game im playin, yeah this ain aight. Being segregated from other students is not cool. I just want to enhance my mind and learn in a good school.
