bodies of hope
Now here lies the body of a future congress man, president, soldier, father, husband, son. the body of a future hope.
Emmett Till.
Now here lies the body of a future actor, preacher, sports star, husband, father, son. the body of a future hope.
trayvon Martin.
now a lot of you may wonder... start to ponder... why two boys who know not each other are dead. side by side with each other.
how about this as an answer. the same chains and blame games. saaame hatred and for a lack of a better word dumbness... or maybe it should be numbness that shot my brother shot me as well.
the same story song and dance. prancing of a person's past. killed us both.
better yet the same illness made us die.
made our mothers and fathers. sisters and brothers. aunts uncles neighbors and strangers cry even as our body lay in different time zones eaten away by the guilt of nothingness we are still connected.
what killed us killed millions.
what killed us killed you too...
but i bet that's something you never knew...
these racist superior thoughts.
while our killers roamed free for a while as if naught in life bothered them.
only to be arrested and penalized due to some minor trial.
where is the justice we seek?
where is the dream of hands holding hands?
of my skin not being the problem or what i get judged by but my character being the reason i am judged?
where is the hope of a dream?
