A Body

Shield my eyes, oh Hand!

From the blazing light

That is her radiance.

Carry me to her, oh Feet!

Follow that hollowed path

Paved with her immortal grace.

Drink her in, oh Lips!

For just one kiss holds the nectar

Of a thousand bottles of perfumed wine.

Enchant her ear, oh Voice!

Whisper words of Byron and Keats,

To delight her blissful mind.

Give thyself to her, oh Heart!

For thou art but a worthless vessel,

A disillusioned thing,

When not in her hands.
