The Body

Dear Body,

We have a love hate relationship,

one that we could only explain.

Sometimes I get so embarrassed and want to shut my lips,

But its time I stop and reveal what I contain.

I'm not average in height and and my personality still varies,

Theres something about you that makes me question.

Is it my big feet and the scab on my knee that I carry,

Or is it what my brain sees as a projection?

My smile is feature that not everyone can see,

Only the real one is shown to those with truth.

My baby face is what makes us unique,

probably why we get complemented on our youth.

Don't get me wrong I love my body and I wouldn't change it if I had the choice,

Its just that sometimes you make me not belive in my self and feel likeI don't have a voice.

Sincerely,

Mia Tolliver
