To a body betrayed
To a body betrayed
I am sorry
for all the hatred spewed about you
for the time spent hovered over a toilet bowl
the days starved and deprived
I am sorry for it all
I am sorry I could not find the strength to love you
so instead I hurt you
I was so unhappy with the state you were in I broke you down
rather than build you up
how could I have treated a ruined shack as a temple?
I regret the days
I now see the stained glass in your eyes
and the sacred beauty in every curve
to a body once so betrayed
im sorry i didnt see it sooner.
