Body Image

Body Image
These two words,
you hear often.
These two words,
people avoid.
Nobody wants to speak of it.

It is unhealthy to feel unsafe
in your own body.
Please don't hurt yourself.

Darling,
I know people are so cruel.
Most know the feeling of looking
in the mirror and hating
what you see.
I mean, we are all different
but apparently there is a set
book full of rules.
Stating that if you body looks a certain way,
you're doing it wrong.

Can you please tell me what happened?
What's wrong with being different?

Dear anybody
who has scars on their arms,
who's super thin,
overweight.

Dear anybody,
who feels their body contains
less worth because of the way you look.
I don't know how many times
I have to tell you this.

You are the most beautiful person.
Every inch of your body tells a story.
I understand you may not see it,
but people do.
