Bogged Down

I am stuck, held fast in The swamp extends for miles A bleak and barren swamp In ev’ry direction Where few men dare to Bisected by the Venture Lone road I vainly struggle as One more person walks by I watch friends come and go But she turns and looks back Never caring to Giving me one last Look back Sad glance My body is broken And so I doggedly Deteriorated Trudge on, still hopeful that I am suffering I will not be left Falling Behind My mind is a blank slate The light is starting to Devoid of emotion Fade, slowly leaving me My thoughts are lifeless I bravely fight back Empty Because I am just a mangrove In the back of my mind Mired in this muddy marsh I still hold on to a And I am, truly, Hope of not being Alone Alone
