Bondage

Arrested in our silence Voices crawling, minds numbing Sadly our pens, out of ink cannot scream for us Our hands bonded Brains shackled Our ears and eyes open Wide as oven as hot as hell We take in what they give us Thought What they want Is what we know Can we plead with our hands behind our back? The lean and hungry dog The look of tyranny Yet we bark Subservient Tears glisten as they fall like the sadistic blood our conspirators unravel from the peers Fallen like the apple from the tree How many heads did it hit on the way down? Dominoes. Fallen our independence, Why even drink tea When it's symbolism died as our fathers Fallen 6ft into dirt I weep, they weep, the mind would weep Were the prisons not so tight. Confined A rat without cheese to find Trapped in our own device. Hypocratic, democratic Singing Mockingbird mock me? Take my throat Take my mind Take my love Take my heart But steadfast remains my soul.
