Bonded


If only I could close my eyes And taste the sweet freedom These chains of sorrow and agony Are digging into the flesh of my wrists As they bind me to this prison of pity My tear sacks are now just shriveled grapes As every last salty drop fell and evaporated My weak and wearisome boy Collapsed from the pain Yet my soul continued on Full of ambition and hope As it patched the sores on my heart And sowed the bleeding wounds shut
