Bone-Chilling

Location

Snap, crackle, pop Rice Crispies

The sounds of the ice as the man, briskly

Walked. fresh snow cold as liquid nitrogen

Packs together in the chill air of one word—nippy

A penguin waddles by enjoying the weather

A day only manageable by the man in a sweater

The barren tundra has not known heat for decades

But simply slows down to a halt—fetter

The landscape has stopped, stationary on the whole

Nature smiles as the man reaches his goal

Oddly, a screech rings out throughout the entire scape

The man seems to have licked the North Pole

The rockhopper penguin stops, amused

He laughs quite loud as he begins to peruse

What he saw was quite a sight to behold

Corpses everywhere, stuck to poles
