Boodaddy Poem

I brag about you to current friends who care so much since they are true comrades.
Your voice was low and hollow- I stole your love for literature and music.
Our heritage is mighty and we are a smart breed of human, religious and determined.
Boodaddy, you were quite the intellectual and many of my passions stem from what you instilled inside my childhood mind.
I miss you so, I can hardly make it through the hymns you used to chant without sobbing.
Stiff upper lip, I suppose. I’ll stay strong like daddy; stifle all emotion, claim I never cried at all.
But of course you know otherwise, and you were strong, you cried for my brother, who now sits upon your lap in heaven!
