The Book
She had brown hair and blue eyes.
She had a great mind but a cold heart.
Now she's all alone on this small island.
Just her and her book.
The cover is old and worn and coarse to the touch.
It's green in color but inside its an old, faded yellow.
Between pages there are pictures and flowers and notes; all things that she has left behind.
She is sitting here reading this book.
Completely submerged in the text and imagery and vocabulary.
Forgetting where she is and that she is alone.
As she reads this book she laughs and cries and gets angry, but all the while she never puts the books down.
Because no matter how many times she reads the book she will still fall in love with the same characters and still cry when she reaches the end.
However, this book does one thing that nothing else in this world can...
It takes her away from where she is and into somewhere far better than anything should could experience here.
So even though she is alone on a dessert island she is not alone at all.
