The Book of Life

I read through

The pages,

Living each character's

Lives,

Dying their deaths

Annotating the themes,

Chapter to chapter,

Page to page,

Journeying each

Mountain

As I walk the bridges

Along the way,

Looking down at

The water while

Noticing the calming

Stillness,

Villians try to tackle

Me, and for a moment

I raise my arms in defeat,

Yet I pull out a Sword

And swash-buckle

With arms raised in

Victory

And I find a treasure

Chest, grieving

The last page before

The book closes

But knowing that I

Have a typewriter in

The treasure chest,

I smile

For the next chapter

Is yet to begin.
