Book Smart
They say school is great,
and don't get me wrong it is,
but if we can't learn should that determine our fate?
The education system makes up so many rules,
quizzes, essays, and some tests,
are these even the right tools?
Life is much more than being book smart,
there is so much more to learn outside of school,
since life itself is an abstract art.
Take love for example,
they teach us Romeo and Juliet,
but is that the right sample,
of literature to show us a feeling
that is expressed between a feuding family,
which ends up being very unappealing.
Math teaches us the foundation,
two plus two equals four,
but how would you apply that in the correct confrontation?
School can teach us what we need to know,
but the ouside world has so much more
than some test students might blow
off as something unimportant
and don't need to know.
Lessons we cannot learn in school
will be taught out on the streets,
think about it as just a step stool.
Although the education system might be state of the art
just always remember:
Life is much more than being book smart.
