Bookworm

So much noise, people talking,

I probably look out of place,

But they all keep walking.

All so busy, moving at a quick pace..

In these white pages I find relief,

In here the perfect space.

Few understand, and that’s fine with me.

I will attempt to explain this,

And I’ll try and be brief.

When life gets complicated, this is bliss.

A simple solution, a sweet escape,

Not something to be dismissed,

Broken hearts, we know, can’t be fixed with tape.

But for me, an easy distraction

Is poring over each compelling page.
