"Born Into"

Location

A conflict centuries old

The face, aboriginal

Indigenous

And

Yet

I realize as the moon kisses

The ocean and the dog

Reminisces over

January

That

I did wake up, like this,

Or that a man

Both white

And black

And seaching for the medium

Between beatings and

Boycotts

I did wake up, like this

But i never carry this

Into the eveneing

Where I lay

Wondering

My flaw

The medium

Between black

And white, between the

White father and the black mother

A medium not so uncommon

As the moon kisses ocean

Over and over again

My flaws, over

And over

Again.
