Born For It
I write because I was
born to do it like
We are all born to
breathe and love and
hope and dream.
To live and die.
I write because of the voices
screaming inside of me
Because there are
stories that need telling
people that need saving
I'm not a hero
but a messenger
I write for you
and for me
To kill the hurt inside
To speak my mind
To find a place, a home, someone that loves me
Someone that loves us.
I write because it's not just my right it's
my duty
to keep this pen pressed to the paper
I was born to breathe life into empty pages.
We will not be silent.
