Borrowing
War Dims Hope for Peace.
It squanders away the ability to believe in something better,
taking the last ounces of humanity with it.
War Dims Hope for Peace.
It ignites the inner need to dominate
and the unquenchable thirst for power.
War Dims Hope for Peace.
A headline that blares through the media,
invoking interest and concern in everyone it touches.
War Dims Hope for Peace.
Hope is barely glowing in the eyes of the last hopeful,
holding on to the thought of one day living happy.
War Dims Hope for Peace.
With lives lost and communities torn down,
finally a jagged definition of peace can be seen through the void of war.
War Dims Hope for Peace.
War has simmered and peace lays like a mist over all parties,
but once the air clears and the heat rises once more;
War will dim the hope for peace.
