Boss Battle
My life as a game
I booted up the game, and came to exist,
a level one warrior
My first boss appeared,
a flaming beholder who interrogated me
about my life
I was unprepared,
without any eye contact,
and a volume of -5
I got stomped,
crushed,
game over.
Instead of rage quitting, and leaving the game,
I continued, and tried again.
The same enemy was there,
A flickering opponent, with less fire and flames.
I memorized its patterns,
knew what it would ask
And spoke a little bit louder
Despite my preparation, he still prevailed,
and stumped me with his riddles
My morale dropped, I felt despair,
I forced myself to continue.
Before I faced him again,
I grinded out points
Drumming for the enthusiasm,
Boogying out of my comfort level
When I faced the boss,
I had no fear,
and didn’t need any assistance
I spoke louder, so that I could be heard,
and always kept eyes on him
The battle was won before it begun
Victory was completely assured
As my opponent fell,
my confidence rose,
and my journey could finally continue.
Throughout my adventure, I still faced
some bosses, though none
will come close to the day
When I controlled my fear,
I crushed my enemies,
and conquered
the blasted
interview.
