The Bottle

Two seemingly close sisters,

drifting apart from disagreements.

Needing a reason for confrontation,

from the pantry a bottle emerges.

Solitarily one sits,

while the other remains distant.

Vitamin C slowly soaks in,

and the truth is revealed.

Confessions of loneliness arise,

convincing her sister to hesitantly partake.

The bottle is passed silently between,

feeding the growing conversation.

Lighthearted laughter follows.

Talk of unanswered questions,

brings promise for the future.

Learning the secret of survival,

gives them enough to believe in.
