BOTTLES
Do you think I like doing this?
Holding a bottle in my hand every night
Thinking about my problems
All I can do is cry
A tear drop turns into a waterfall
Just when I pick myself up something brings me back down
Everything is slowly cracking
My life is like a mirror
Everything that happens to me is one crack
Then another, then another, then another.
But no one understands they just all leave me and call me an alchy
But no one stops to think why
I'm angry
Angry at the world for bullying me
Angry at my son for not loving me
Angry at my husband for leaving me
Angry at myself for being this way
And angry at those damn bottles
Mocking me.
Chanting at me to take a swig.
Then I do it.
But they keep persisting until I do more and more
Until I'm lying in a pit of empty bottles with my head all fuzzy and my words all slurry
I can't think straight.
Questions, questions, so many questions but not a chance to answer
So they all leave me..
In that lonely room..
With my only friend..
The bottles.
