At the Bottom

Try as I might, there's just no way. Love is a distant image, like the top of a mountain from the bottom. The bottom will never, can never, come into contact with the top. Never reach the clouds. My feet are firmly planted at the base of that very mountain. I've tried to climb, and every time, I find myself right back where I started. The bottom. While everyone else has made it to the top. Maybe I"m just not meant to conquer this love beast. Yet, my feet won't move. The smart thing to do would be to walk away. But I can't. I'm stuck. Doomed. I'll never be good enough to reach my destination, so I'm trapped. Left in the dust. Forced to forever repeat this lonely cycle of desperation. I'll never be able to capture the beauty that other people do, yet I take another step... and another.... until I'm back to where I started... The bottom.
