The Bottom Line


You sat, suffered, waited.

But words cut and drunken slurs hated.

But, then again, what could you do?

The bottom line is, he never loved you.

 

He would jauntily call you "his girl" and the only one for him, 

Make you feel warm, heart filled to the brim.

But what once is always, you knew, 

The bottom line is he never loved you.

 

Everything was picture perfect at least to the innocent eye, 

But the marks on your face grew harder to hide.

Ostentatious apologizes and excuses, 

But it's too late now to refute it.

Moonlight Sonata plays, your face slowly turns blue, 

The bottom line is he never lov...
