Bottom of the Totem Pole

Ripped us from our homes

And starved us to our bones

Some how it was our fault

We are put in situations to always start lower

We were placed and worked for the white mans money

They say they worked for it and people have come ups it’s not an excuse

Let’s talk old money these people had labor for free of the expense of the black man

We were finally free only to endure even more torture

We just want rights the white men are had

White man was scared ;Blacks will come superior

Don’t forget It was your white ancestors who decided that

That they were too good for work

So they ripped us from homes

They took and dragged us to their countries

Used and abused us for themselves

Raped our women killed our men

And we are at the bottom of the totem pole

We are starved to our bones

And it’s our fault

We are set free and we think finally we are at peace

Maybe we will be free to roam

Sadly that’s not the case

We have are to blame for all things bad for years to come

It’s like the white man forgot how we’ve become

We didn’t choose this life you choose for us

This is what we were given we are told to make a better life for us ...

But we start at the bottom of the totem pole
