Bottomless Pit

The feeling is extremely powerful

And I'm becoming less and less imune

Seems as though I'm strong enough

Yet, not strong enough to move

The laughing is numb

More and more, I find myself unamused

Slightly elevated to the point where I'm confused

Slowly, yet painfuly, I come to the realization of reality

Perhaps insanity

Is it possible to see the darkness vividly?

Not an empty pit...

Yet, it seems to be

A lonesome feeling that seems to go on without end

And the slightlest bit of light may just ripple my vision

Would you believe me if I told you that the empty, endless pit is depression?

And that no matter how strong I am, it's a trap that i can't escape

The longer I feel this numbing pain,

The longer I feel the need to run away

Run until my feet bleed

Run until my legs are weak

Run until I can no longer breath

At least run far enough to get a glimpse of peace

I've found my passion for poetry in 2010. :) I also enjoy writing mystery novels.
