The Boulder

There's a boulder pushing my head down

and it's always there and always has been.

It is heavy rock that does not have a sound,

Yet it throws me off balance, as if there is more Yang than Yin.

No, it is not boulder in a physical sense.

However, it has the power to make me tense,

trying to keep me down when I try to get back up.

Because of it, I cannot empty my cup.

This boulder is something that has been above all.

Those who submit to its force blend into the environment,

While those who don't are able to stand tall.

Only when it is lifted will I feel true enlightenment.
