BOUND NOT GAGGED

I am vapor formless and thin.

My love passed on beyond my reach,

I contemplate a quick demise.

Forever sleep so easily achieved.

A handful of curious chemicals.

In one mighty swallow I can follow

and find where my lost heart now lives.

No promise, no vowel to any I’m bound.

I dance this Earth solo, feet not rooted.

No soul am I tied. None to lament leaving behind.

I am free, or am I. My fear, my cowardice

Like chains keep me lashed to this Life.
