Bound by the Ties of Blood
From the moment I was born, I was alone.
I yearned for love.
I yearned for attention.
I yearned for you.
As I matured, I realized that you were physically there, but not present.
I realized that I was not your child, but your slave.
A slave bound by the ties of blood.
A slave dying to break the chains off my feet and run free.
As time progresses, I realized their was no bond.
There was no blood.
The first step was hard, which was acknowledging the problem.
The second step was painful.
I felt alone, like the moment I was born.
The third step was the hardest, my angel was called home.
The fourth step was a challenge, for I embraced reality.
The fifth step was easy, as I learned that I was not alone.
This was the day that I realized, I was all grown.
