Bows and Lace

I tie the ribbon in a foolish way,

so that some length may still sway.

To receive this package, you must pay.

What is inside I cannot say.

Though through perfumed papers I can

reveal black words to slay a man,

signed at last in permanent pen.

Enclosed finally in an envelope tan.

Away, to your home, postman did wheel.

My beating heart he tried to steal.

And with your reading, it was all a done deal.

Thanks to that letter with a red wax seal.
