The Box

I will put in my box

the dandelion seeds

dancing in the wind

the priceless painting

spread across the sunset sky

the seashells that decorate the joining

of land and sea

the diamond that catches the ray of light

only to send it out again in all directions

the last autumn leaf

clinging to the tree branch

the last note that leaves the piano

after a rendition of "Moonlight Sonata"

the was "I love you"

leaves my mother's lips

the pink rose

among the garden of white flowers

the love and comfort of my family

the box is what is need

the box is a place of

preservation

passed down

generation to generation

filled with memories of past, present

and soon to be future

it holds what cannot

will not

be forgotten
