Hope is a lie

I wish I didn't have to be the one to tell you

but, unfortunately it is true

Hope is something

which mockingly stares

while wishes don't come true

It disguises itself as well-meant intentions

and not the monster that it really is

It is dangling off a cliff

while you wait for help to arrive

Hope is false promises

giving way to brokn hearts

I am told to be less cynical

I hope this is a start
