Boy

His eyes catch me.

They are deep and set in the roughest of stone.

The bones of his cheeks are daggers screaming for release from their stone-skin encasement.

Lips full with words of rebellion and revolt.

A voice that reaches heaven, his consonants seeping into hell.

The sweet and sticky scent of rich molasses, the tall darkness of the new moon.
