A Boy I Once Knew
A boy I once knew was as kind as George Clooney
& sweeter than a candy cane.
A boy who wanted to impress his parents
& never gave up hope.
A boy who was taller than the Eifel Tower
& was perfect for me.
A boy who made my heart beat faster than a speeding train
& I could talk to about anything.
A boy I still love and care about
& has moved on like a jet plane.
A boy who broke my heart, shattered like glass
& changed my view on life like crystal.
A boy who seems to want more than I can give
& looks at me with hate
A boy who used to love me, once cared
& wanted me to believe he still does.
A boy I once believed in
& loved me unconditionally.
A boy who left me in the dusty Sahara
& cheated a few times.
A boy who I forgave
& understood his issues.
A boy who I’ll always be there for like a tree
& be that shoulder to cry on that he never was.
A boy I once knew as gorgeous as McDreamy
& athletic as can be.
A boy I love once
& now beginning to forget.
