From A Boy to A Man

It was a warm sunny day,

The day I realized I was a grownup.

My mom and sister got out of the car,

And I was asked to pull up.

A man I’ve never seen entered my car,

With a serious look on his face.

I became extremely anxious,

Hoping I wouldn't become a disgrace.

I started off slow,

Trying to catch my groove.

But after the first sharp turn,

I really began to move.

It only took five minutes,

Before I began to see.

The smiling faces of the people,

Whom I call my family.

I told them that I passed,

Knowing I did great.

The same, stearn man exclaimed,

“Please move up to that gate”.

The day had finally come,

One I had long awaited.

My own license, holding it in my hands,

Feeling as if I was completely inflated.

There and then,

A time in my life had come and left.

I realized I had become a grownup that day,

Only for my mother to become completely stressed.
