The Boy Who Cried The Truth

For days on end I cried out for their help

"Wolf! Wolf! Wolf."

I pleaded with my cry for the villagers to end the life of this beast

Each day the villagers would run to the top of the hill where I sat

With fear in their eyes, they begin searching for the wolf that dared to touch their sheep

Anger crept up their faces once they realized their sheep were safe

What the villagers didn't know was that the wolf wasn't an animal

The wolf was a man

This wolf couldn't be found in the filed of hay eating sheep

Instead he can be found living in my house eating my soul

This wolf was my father

I cried for help each day

And each day I was given looks of disapproval

They claimed I was mad

They claimed that I only wanted to cause mischief

The villagers just couldn't get past their percepation of a wolf

Worst of all they couldn't get past their opinion of my father

And for that I was labeled a liar

I decided I would cry for their help one last time

"Wolf! Wolf! Wolf!

And as I expected the villagers didn't show

When the sun began to rise

The villagers came to check on their sheep

Instead of finding me on the top of the hill

The villagers found my lifeless body on top of the hay
