To the Boy who Never Loved Me
To the Boy who Never Loved Me,
All high and mighty you think you are
Standing in front of the crowd, flashing your new accomplish
Giving no notice to the broken glass upon the floor
Dirt & smudges cover the pieces,
Like a riddle that can’t be solved
You hold her like a trophy, standing under an arch
For you have won, I have not
Her heart shines with brilliance
while mine is dimly gray
Like the earth before it rains
All arrogant and naughty
With no concern for me
You’ve found your new piece of art
For I am merely just a finger painting
All the memories and laughs
Extinguished in the fire
Raging love for each other
Grew into hate for another
For I have not forgotten
Only one line of the phone rings
While the other is blank
With the blankness comes the seaming regret
Of calling you, again.
Love. Solely for the purpose of hurt
To love, both have to want it.
For he did not want it
He wanted her instead. And her. And her.
Regret fills my soul but what else to do
Other than move on
For I wish to be loved but,
Not by a boy that never loved me.
Sincerely yours,
The Girl who Loved You
