To the boys.

Strange noises you hear in the dark,

Distorted perception in your mind,

The tightening of the chest, well

can you even breathe?

Breathe,

because you

still can.

Close

the shimmery eyelids,

merely resting.

The monster which lies

in the encroaching dark

is you.
