Boys, Boys, Boy

I remember my parents say,

"You don't need a boy today.

Wait 'til you're older and smarter.

Wait 'til you mature and become wiser."

But Timmy, Will, and Cly

were just the few boys on my mind.

They were the cutest boys in school

Elementary girls thought they were cool.

But they picked their nose and made dumb jokes.

I did not like them at all.

Middle school rolled around.

Boys grew up as I grew down.

Puberty hit and voices grew deeper.

They weren't at all as I remembered.

A few guys liked me,

But they were still immature as I could see.

Sexual immorality was on their brains.

Something that made them insane.

Middle school guys would smoke and were broke.

I did not like them at all.

High school, I think, is my last.

"I'll find someone in my class."

Freshmen think they fall in love,

but it's heartbreak that rises above.

Seniors are becoming my taste

Until I beome one that I find disgrace.

Sex is number one in high school.

Premarital sex I don't find cool.

We will graduate and go our separate ways.

I did not like them at all.

My school life back then,

the boys were not men.

Timmy, Will, and Cly,

were just boys on my mind.

Who picked their nose

Who made dumb jokes

I want a man in my life.

A man who will make me his wife.

Will I find someone?

Was it not meant to be?

My parents say wait on God,

So I'll let him find someone for me.
