Boys of Fall

Navarre High School Raiders Strap on our pads Lace up our cleats Every spring and fall Always ready to lay a hit, always ready to ball Size doesn't matter in this game no matter how big or small. Our team is surely stacked And we all have love for the game Whether it be making a block or throwing a perfect pass We all work hard for each other’s benefit and giant personal gain "Run 12 right" yells coach as Carter rushes through the lane “Pull through hole and when you arrive bring the pain" To get where we wanna go it takes hard work Going to state is the dream All those two-a-days in august play a huge role You gotta be tough, you gotta be mean Out here there will always be a shoulder on which you can lean Oh man gotta love the blood, sweat, and Bengay cream. Oh ya we are rough and tough All of us ready to fight Always have each other’s backs Especially every Friday night We practice and practice just to get it right Hoping we'll get the "W" under the big stadium lights! Trying to be perfect It's just what we do Always nice and neat From our tape jobs to our shoes Yeah we are winners never wanting to lose Even if you ask us we will simply refuse! Yet here it is November And all our games are done We gave it all we had But state was just not won The season was short but was a lot of fun Running that simple spread offense outta the shotgun!

I wrote this poem my Junior Year at Navarre High School, for our football team.
