Brady

Dear Brady,

We used to play horses for hours on end

We’d sit in that room and pretend

That you were the horse and I was friend

Oh the hours we’d spend

I wanted to be just like you

You play soccer I play soccer too

What you do I do

And so together we grew

When you went to college I was so proud

You left and I bowed

Your love was what I was endowed

But then came a great storm cloud

No one saw it coming

I never imagined this in my wildest dreams

Those boys that night had no idea

The scars they would leave

The scars left on your skin

And pride

The scars left on your family

And friends

That scars left on you

And me

I can see you slipping away

I can see you are about to give way

I love with all my heart

I can’t dream of us being apart

Don’t let me dream that dream

Please come up stream

I know it will be hard

And that you are deeply scarred

Please stay the course

You be the friend and I’ll be the horse

With deep love,

Toni
