Brain Cloud

My eyes open and the noise starts

to fill every corner of my mind,

threatening to tear my head apart

as cogs and wheels scream and grind.

Colors flood in, never ceasing,

shifting into unholy images

I am incapable of policing.

Recollections of angry visages

drag up past actions so quickly

that in a few minutes I’ve gone

into the past so deeply

that I can’t remember how I got

here in the first place.

The volume grows exponentially

till I can lay down my head in disgrace.

Perhaps it’s something in my chemistry
