Brainstorming

At times it is a breeze

Magnolia scented, somehow caressing

Guiding at a languorous pace

No more than a pleasant drift

Through the seascape that is my thoughts

While others it is a tempest

Overcast and smelling of ozone

Swaths of lightning its herald

To flee is the only sensible response

Lest something unsightly occur

The ship has no navigator

Yet the captain still yells his orders

Ever steadfast and stoic

Foolishly still under the impression he commands

As if will alone could move this vessel

Realization comes with each days dawn

My life is that of a passenger

Struggling to maintain his sanity

Be it a pleasure cruise or a voyage damned

I am ever at the mercy of the wind
